Hi, I'm Michelle!
I'm the baker behind (Not Your) 9 to 5 Bakery — and I've always loved working with my hands. Whether it was knitting, crocheting, or now baking, creating something from scratch has always been part of who I am. I fell in love with sourdough because of its beautiful simplicity: just three ingredients — flour, water, and salt — plus a little courage - beautiful things can rise.

How It All Started
Baking gave me something I didn't even realize I needed: a way to slow down after the demands of my 9 to 5 job. I typically do all my baking after work hours, which inspired the name not your 9 to 5 Bakery — and is a little nod to my starter “Doughlene” and the one and only Dolly Parton.
A Little About Me
When I’m not baking, I’m spending time with my husband, our 4-year-old daughter, and friends — whether we’re building our cabin up north, snowmobiling, cruising on the pontoon, or hitting the trails in the UTV. And if you catch me during some quiet time? I’m probably lost in a Romantasy novel (yes, the smuttier the vampires, the better).Starting (not your) 9 to 5 Bakery isn’t just about bread — it’s about creating something real, giving back to my community, and being brave enough to build something of my own.
